30 Day Photo Challenge - Day Three

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

My favorite show EVER is Friends. I started watching it when I was very young, probably just a couple years after it premiered in 1994. I remember anticipating every Thursday night when a new one would come on. I had "The Best of Friends" on VHS (which consisted of random episodes) until  they started releasing the seasons on DVD, which I then bought promptly. The day the series finale aired, I cut out a clipping from the nwspaper titled, "Good-Bye, Good Friends" and then proceeded to bawl my eyes out later that night while watching the last episode. (I still have that clipping). I continue to watch my seasons ALL the time. It never gets old and it always makes me happy. It's a comfort thing and no matter what kind of day I'm having, I will be comforted if I put on a season of Friends. I also rock at the Friends Scene It game.

Ever since my beloved Friends ended in 2004, I had been looking for another sitcom that would not take it's place (nothing ever could) but that would be a similar watching experience. I stumbled across How I Met Your Mother in 2010. Ironically, it started it 2005 (right after Friends ended, more or less), but I had never seen it. Just think, I could have been enjoying it all these years, but I guess I needed my grieving time for Friends. Anyway, Tony and I really got into HIMYM so we bought all 5 seasons and watched them in succession. Season 6 is currently airing on tv but we will wait until it comes out on DVD and just go from there! :)

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day Two

Day 2 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

My grandparents, Bill & Edith, mean the world to me. They are my mother's parents and my brother, Travis, and I have been close with them since we were basically born. They were always more of best friends to me, than just doting grandparents. I have read many books to my grandma over the years, told her everything, asked for her advice, laughed about nonsense, learned a lot of my most used phrases from her, and watched scary movies together. I can talk for hours on the phone with my grandpa, talk to him about real world things, learn how to fix all kinds of things from broken jewelery to my car, and have watched many episodes of Home Improvement, The People's Court, Full House, and Disney Channel shows with him. I love them both SO much. They are amazing, hard-working, and loving people who I'm so very proud to call MY grandparents!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day One

I found this game on Facebook - Breanna posted it on her page - and I thought it would be a fun thing to do for my blog. It's called the 30 Day Photo Challenge.

Day 1 - A picture of yourself with ten facts.

1 - My middle name is D'lynne, which in French means "Of Lynn" (which was my mother's middle name).
2 - I LOVE home-cooked meals and am always so full when I leave my family's house after a great holiday meal....yet, when driving home and passing everything, I get sooo hungry again, like... "Pizza sounds so good right now!" But if I didnt have to drive home, I would be so content.
3 - I love the show iCarly on Nickelodeon.
4 - I'm a perfectionist and an organized neat freak. Example: If I'm writing with a pen and I mess up, I have to start over because I cant stand scribbles.
5 - I am an avid fan of In Touch Weekly magazine. I have been getting it for 8 years....as long as it's been out. It's become a habit to pick it up at the store every week and if I dont get it, I feel anxious. Sometimes I have been so busy that I dont have time to read it, yet I continue to get it weekly. Example: My senior year of high school was extremely busy so I didnt read In Touch for like 4 weeks. Then I had to play catch up. But no matter what, I HAVE to get it. And I read it cover to cover, no matter what the topic is. It's a habit, for sure. If there were ever a game show on this stuff, I would win by a landslide. Even if I dont care what I'm reading about, I retain everything I read.
6 - I love crossword puzzles.
7 - I dont drink tap water. I'd say it's my one high maintenance thing in life. I drink Smart Water and my fridge is always stocked with them.
8 - My car's name is Carlee.
9 - I love watching TV on DVD more so than on actual TV because I hate commercials.I always keep a book handy nearby when I'm watching TV so that I can read during the commercials.
10 - I REALLY want to have kids but I'm absolutely terrified of giving birth.

Happy 2011!

I cant believe how much time flies. It feels like we just moved from Durango to Gresham, and it's already been 9 months since we did that! In that time, we have moved, gotten new jobs, adopted 2 pets, gone to Florida and California, and gotten MARRIED! I cannot believe it. Time has moved so fast and I'm not sure if I like it. It seems days are getting away from me sometimes....while at other times, I am anticipating so many upcoming events that time could not move slower! Time is a funny thing. But I am excited about the new year. While I'm not a fan of odd numbers (curse you, 2011!) I AM stoked to be getting a new year to start fresh with. It marks our first new year as a married couple. We hope to accomplish so many things this year. Tony and I are both making goal lists and as soon as we are done, I'm going to post them on here. Speaking of posts, I'm making a resolution to blog more! So look at me - I'm writing one on the very first day of the year! I'm hoping I can post something at least once a day, no matter what it is. Whether I need to rant or rave, post a link, post a picture, share a random thought, write a review - ANYTHING, I'm going to jot it down here. So get prepared to start hearing a lot more from me! And in turn, I would LOVE to hear from you! Please post comments as I'd love to respond (and to kind of see if people are even reading this thing!)

We had quite the New Year celebration this year - Tony and I went over to my Uncle Gary and Aunt Cindy's house for a family party. We partied it up Dance Dance Revolution style on the Xbox Kinect. It was soooo much fun! We ate, laughed, danced, and rang in the new year....until 4 am. Hahaha. After crashing out, we attended 2 weddings today to start off the new year. My friend, Heather, who I've known since I was a kid, got married today to Spencer in our church. It was such a cute wedding and she is so creative! My other friend, Kimberly, had her ceremony today as well. She technically married Ben in December of 2009 but they never had a wedding so they did that today. She made a beautiful bride (as I knew she would) and I'm happy for them. Seeing both couples celebrate their love for each other really starts the year off in a great positive joyful way!

Here's to 2011 being a life-changing year!

We wish you a Merry Christmas!

2 1/2 months. That's how long I've been married. Time is sure moving quickly! Just a few months ago, I was anticipating my wedding and now....it's already been 2 1/2 months! We've had the wedding, gone on our honeymoon, celebrated Thanksgiving, and are now preparing for Christmas, which is in 4 days! Good Lord. A lot has been going on though:

- I am not working at the leasing office anymore, due to them cutting their own hours and there not being enough for me to do. I am, however, babysitting and pet sitting, which is actually really wonderful. It's something I love to do, I'm doing it consistently, and it provides some extra income.
- Tony got promoted at his job and received a raise, which is awesome! He's also on more of a schedule now so that's wonderful. He gets off every day around 6 pm and then he normally gets weekends off.
- We adopted another family member! I found him at the Humane Society - we dont know what he is for sure but he looks like a lab / German Shepard mix. He's about 10 months old and is one sweet boy. We named him Marlee =] So now we have 4 babies! 2 dogs and 2 kitties - although Tony would like to give Bentlee away to another family because he is causing too much trouble here. I hate to do something like that, but we may have to. We're still discussing it though.
- We just had Surprise Day with my dad's side of the family last Saturday. It was a lot of fun! It's where we all get together and have food, play games, visit, and participate in a White Elephant Gift Exchange with both naughty and nice gifts - it's a blast!
- With 4 days until Christmas, I can hardly wait. I just love this time of year - being with loved ones, basking in the warmth of the season, and just taking the time to focus on all the things you are thankful for.
- Tony and I have been meeting with a realtor, as we are looking for a house! We would like to be in one by April because that is when our lease is up.
- For all of you that know me, you know I LOVE Ellen! I watch her show every day. Each year she has her "12 Days of Giveaways" shows. This year she had awesome prizes. I entered every single day but didnt have any luck. However, she is now holding one more week of entering to try to win every single gift given away during ALL 12 days! So of course I'm entering with a passion. *Fingers crossed!*
- I did however win Style Unveiled's 12 Days of Giveaways Day 3!! I won 2 bottles of products from Sprunk Jansen, which is an amazing company. Style Unveiled is a wedding website where you can gain lots of inspiration while planning your wedding. It's also a fun site to keep tabs on even if you're already married!

So lots going on and I just wanted to do a little update. I cant wait until 2011 - I have already started working on my goal list and I'm excited to get going on it! I will post it on here as well. SPOILER ALERT: one of my goals is to blog more, whether I have news, a story to tell, something that is funny to share, interesting information, or just pictures. Speaking of pictures, here are a few that I will leave you with:

Until my next blog - have a happy holiday season!
